• We talk to mother of 4 Daniela Stevens

What's more lovable than a mother of 4 on mother’s day? A mother of 4 who is doing her bit along with the Vision Crusaders to raise money to help conquer cancer.

Starting in August Daniela will by getting on her bike to ride 1200km over 12 days! Help kick start her campaign by liking her photo on Facebook!

We are inspired by the busy mother of 4 and were lucky enough to ask her a few questions.

How do you still find the time to workout and stay in shape with 4 children under the age of 7?

Easy. YOU JUST DO IT. No one else is going to get me out of bed and say: "Hey Dani, let's workout!" So I make time; usually before my husband goes to work or throughout the day when one of my babies are sleeping. If you can't find 15 minutes for yourself, you need to change your mindset.

What exercises do you love and hate the most?

I love yoga and resistance based training, slow movements with increased weight. I absolutely loathe burpees, but plan on doing a monthly challenge so I can encourage my readers/followers to do the same.

Do you have any advice you would like to pass on to those mothers who are looking to shed some post-pregnancy weight?

Please ladies, shift your mindset and make time for YOU. We are so busy looking after everyone else that we leave ourselves last. If you put yourself first and are happy and healthy in your own skin, everything else falls into place. That's my secret to managing a household of 6 people. My energy levels are always high and I am so motivated sharing my healthy journey with everyone, so they too are loving and living life to the fullest!

Did you follow the same diet and training regime after giving birth to each of your 4 children? What did you change?

With my first pregnancy I just tried everything. I thought my metabolism would bounce back but it didn't. I was on various yoyo diets. Nothing seemed to work for me, as I would slip back into my bad eating habits and think my body would simply burn it off.

However since finding the fitness program (more info on my blog) 6 years ago, after baby no. 2, this is now my lifestyle. Eating healthy and exercising 15 minutes per day is all it takes. Simple, I know. However there are obstacles I still face so I am a work in progress.

What motivates you to stick with your diet and exercise routine?

I see results. My skin looks great, my behaviour, mood and attitude. I just feel amazing nourishing my body with good food. Moving regularly has given me more zest for life and makes you an all round happy person!

What are some of your favourite meals to make for the family?

Our kids love anything "healthy". They are now so accustomed to the way we live, that any "emergency" fish and chips or trip to McDonalds makes them feel sick in the tummy.

Various grilled meats with steamed vegetable or raw salads are a staple in our family. I also like to cook and have these meals prepped within 30 minutes, it gets pretty busy around that time, so I like to make my life easy.

What are some of your favourite meals to make for yourself?

As I am typically on the go ALL THE TIME I love making my green smoothies. Blend a banana, handful of spinach, 180 Nutrition coconut protein powder and almond milk. It keeps me going while I am doing the school runs.

Otherwise I love making quinoa and experimenting with salads, adding tuna and any other proteins with my produce.
